A Cornish language music video by a Looe band has gone viral – with half a million views online.
The number of people listening to The Changing Room’s clip is almost equivalent to the population of Cornwall.
Gwrello Glaw (Let it Rain) is one of the tracks on the band’s new album, and was translated into Cornish by Dr Ken George, who lives in Seaton.
Musicians Tanya Brittain and Sam Kelly put the international interest in the song down to the fact people are intrigued by hearing the ancient Cornish language, and want to find out more.
‘We’ve had thousands of comments, shares and likes from people all over the world,’ said Tanya. ‘Most of them have just heard Cornish for the first time and seem to like it.’
The band are just about to release their second album, Picking up the Pieces.
A show to launch the new album will take place at Looe’s Riverside Church on Friday, August 12.
