League newcomers Probus, making their first ever visit to Lux Park, received a tough baptism.
Although Liskeard were missing several members of their first XI squad they had too much power and experience for their visitors.
The writing was on the wall an early as the eighth minute when Dave Cole gave Liskeard the lead. In the 19th minute the electric Colin Barrett ran onto a through ball and beat keeper Alex Holland for the second.
Barrett then beat two defenders and rapped the ball against the foot of a post before Steve West beat the offside and added Liskeard's third.
Probus had their moments in the first half with Steve Flack, Jim Martin and Phil Webster all threatening but some solid defending and a couple of saves from Blues 'keeper Gavin Hurst kept them out.
There was a solid contribution from Chippy Chapman as Liskeard dominated the second half. Jodie Reynolds hit the crossbar before registering Liskeard's fourth. Barrett made it 5-0 and nine minutes from time completed his hat-trick. It was his 13th goal of the season.
In the 86th minute Wally Wallbutton took Liskeard's lead to seven and seconds from the close Cole completed the rout. It was Liskeard's second successive clean sheet which would have delighted the Blues management.
