Ashes continued with their recent good form with a workmanlike display at Brak Park. It took only five minutes for Saltash to edge in front with skilfull play by Darren Butcher and Ryan Swiggs setting up Steve Best for a shot into the roof of the net.

Two minutes later Lee Wakehams free kick was passed wide on the left to Butchers who cut a super ball back from the bye line to be headed past keeper Parsons by Lee Grogan. St Breward continued to pull a goal back and should have been rewarded on half-time with Chic Worden blasting a shot way over the Ashes crossbar with only keeper Stacey to beat from eight yards out.

In an evenly contested second half both sides had chances but Saltash looked quicker on the ball than their opponents. Mid-way through the half Lee Wakeham swung in a corner from the left which was punched clear by Parsons to the predatory Butcher on the edge of the box. Butcher unleased a super effort which flew into the net for Ashes third goal.

All too late, St Breward came on strong in the latter stages of the game. Keeping their tenth clean sheet of the season Chris Stacey pulled off a fine save from Dean Tongue and other efforts were cleared off the Saltash line by Best with a full length header and Steve Anbany.
