Liskeard are back on top of the League after their convincing victory over Launceston. "We were much more organised than went we went up to Launceston", said jt manager Martin Hodge. Liskeard were held to a 4-4 draw at Pennygillam in August but once Steve West had rifled in a penalty in the early minutes after Mike Sleeman had been fouled Launceston faced an uphill battle.

With the wind Liskeard dominated but it was not until the 44th minute that Nick Senior floated in a free kick which beat the 'keeper and sailed into the top corner that Liskeard added a second.

Although against the elements in the second half Liskeard controlled the game and it was only from breaks that Launceston went close through Chris Slateford, Bill Burrows and John Endacott.

Liskeard killed the game off with three goals in an eight minute spell. Launceston 'keeper Greg Freeman had made several excellent saves before substitute Jodie Renals beat him following a cross from Colin Barrett.

It was a Barrett-Jon Rylett combination which set up Dave Cole for Liskeard's fourth. A precision ball from West created the opening for Barrett to thunder in a shot for the fifth. Martin Wallbutton rattled the post and in the follow up Liskeard attackers hit the bar and post again before a desperate visiting defence managed to clear the ball away.
