Liskeard had been expecting to account for Foxhole rather easier than they did. But the strugglers produced a sterling performance and the visitors had to battle for their win.
Blues joint boss Martin Hodge conceding that it was a close call. "Foxhole surprised us with their spirit and the quality of their football and on that display are in a false position", he said. "But we did what we had to do and ground out three points."
It was a result which lifted Liskeard seven points clear at the top and although all the clubs immediately below them have fixtures in hand Liskeard have the points in the bag.
Hotshot Colin Barrett with his 28th goal of the season gave Liskeard an interval lead and when Dave Cole added a second it seemed a formality. But Foxes were having none of it and hitting back through Pete Russett they gave Liskeard some uncomfortable moments before the final whistle brought an end to proceedings.
