Leaders Liskeard came within a whisker of winning this top table encounter after matters looked pretty desperate at the break.

Liskeard were sadly out of touch in the opening 45 minutes and conceded two goals. Camelford's leading marksman Andy Watts converted a pinpoint cross from Phil Brown for the first and before the break Martin Rickard's corner was headed in by Roger Beare for the second.

But a half time pep talk from management did the business. "I felt we could still get back into it", said joint manager Martin Hodge. And an early goal from Lee Maddock who cleverly placed the ball past Richard Hambly from 18 years gave the visitors the lift they needed.

Camelford cleared off the line on a couple of occasions whilst Colin Barrett was among three visiting attackers denied by the woodwork.

With 20 minutes left Neil Mullis provided the finishing touch to a well worked move initiated by the influential James Gill.

"On reflection we could have won it but the lads dug themselves out of a hole and at 2-2 I have to be happy with that", added Hodge.
