Liskeard are through to the semi finals of the League cup and now face a semi final at Lux Park against Wadebridge.

In a fast flowing quarter final on Saturday it was Liskeard's sharper finishing which was to eventually turn the match their way.

At thebreak it was 1-1 with new signing Darren Gilbert setting Liskeard on their way in the 10th minute when he cut in from the left and shot across the keeper for the Blues opening goal.

Back came St Dennis with S teve West heading an Andy Rosevear drived off the line before a fine strikefrom Jason Warne put them on terms.

In the minutes before the break both West and Roger Quaintance created dangerous situations in the St Dennis area but the visiting defence remained solid.

It was nip and tuck throughout the second-half with Neil Dudley a whisker away with a far post drive. In the 59th minute substitute James Gill opened up the visiting defence with a break down the left his cross giving Neil Mullis the chance to knock in his fifth goal in last three matches.

Liskeard were fired up with Pethick doing well to deny Colin Barrett. Twelve minutes from time Carl Nickson was ambulanced to hospital with a suspected broken arm and was substituted by Dave Cole. He quickly made his mark with the Blues third converting a bye-line centre from Barrett.

Even at 3-1 Liskeard could not relax and a strong finish from the visitors had Liskeard defending strongly. With five minutes left Paul Lowden came to Liskeard's rescue when he denied Dudley from the penalty spot. "How well we battled", said Blues joint manager Martin Hodge. "We soaked up a fair amount of pressure in the second half but caught them on the break."
