FIRMS based in South East Cornwall backed a fund-raising day for a Westcountry hospice.

A total of £5161.04 was raised for Rowcroft Hospice in Torbay through a charity golf day organised by Helen Holman who lost her father to cancer.

Helen, shown presenting a cheque, said: ‘A big thank you to everyone who took part, helped and supported the golf day – your support is greatly appreciated. Also a big thank you to Barclays Bank, Steve Hoskin and Fred Champion from Groundfix Ltd and Mark from CBL Plant Hire for your generous donations.’

Hospice community fundraising officer Debbi Shotton said: ‘This is such an amazing amount to have raised and it means so much to our patients and their loved ones.’

*Steve Hoskin Construction Ltd, based at Pensilva, and Fred Champion Groundworks Ltd, based at Doublebois, have formed a company called Groundfix Ltd which is working on the Sherford development on the outskirts of Plymouth.
