Readers
We have all experienced an incredibly challenging period during the past nine months as the country battles with the coronavirus pandemic, but out of this has come a tremendous feeling of unity and togetherness that has been shown in our local communities.
We have all stuck together and worked together to get through this so far.
However, this crisis is not over yet as we make our way through a second national lockdown.
When those businesses forced to close by the coronavirus restrictions are able to reopen again, they will need our support more than ever, as do those businesses that are still operating through lockdown, to get the economy going again and to protect local jobs and livelihoods.
We urge you to shop locally, and when you do so, to shop safely, following all the Government rules on social distancing.
For our part, for more than 100 years, our publications have been at the heart of the communities we serve and, together, we have seen many a crisis come and, eventually, pass.
Our journalists, sales and distribution teams all live and work locally and, like you, have been working hard to support the whole community through these difficult times, working together to help customers and readers, and in the wider community those who need us most.
In these unprecedented times, we have continued to operate and to support the local community through our newspapers and websites, delivering up-to-date local news, information, sport and more, and we will continue to do so.
We will also keep you right up to date with all the latest Covid news affecting our area.
