Workshops for a community performance celebrating the centenary of two world-changing events will start this week.
The year 1918 brought the end of the First World War - as well as the granting of votes to certain women.
Both 100 year milestones are being marked in Saltash with a series of free performing arts workshops which start on Wednesday (September 5).
The sessions, which are being staged by the Sue Hooper Charitable Foundation (SHCF), will culminate in a performance on November 17.
‘This is a rare opportunity for us all to take part in a wonderful period theatre encounter,’ said a spokesperson for SHCF.
‘No performing arts experience is required, just a willingness to take part in paying tribute to the servicemen and suffragettes who fought for freedom and equality.’
Music and Drama practitioner Julian Barnicoat will be present at the workshops to put people through their paces.
Sessions will run as follows:
Wednesdays from September 5 - November 14 (10am - 11am) at Burraton Community Centre
Fridays from September 14 - November 16 (6pm - 7pm) at Ashtorre Rock Community Centre
The performance is set to take place at Saltash Wesley Methodist Church on Saturday November 17.
