TEAMS of friends and family are being encouraged to take part in a fun walking event for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

The Coast and Cove challenge is organised by the Lions Club of Looe and will take place over the weekend of June 16 and 17.

From the extreme challenge – covering 55 miles over two days on routes between Rame Head and Polruan – to a family treasure hunt walk between Looe and Talland Bay, there are several distances to suit all ages and abilities.

People can take part just for a few hours or challenge themselves to a full weekend of walking and make the most of an overnight stay near the coast.

Lions Club members can even help groups to tailor their own route of anywhere between four and 27 miles, and will arrange for transport to help walkers at the start and finish of their hike.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust is currently fundraising for a new helicopter to save more lives across the region.
