LISKEARD’S Royal British Legion social club will open its doors next week (Thursday May 20) after almost five months of being closed.

“Over the last few months we have carried out an extensive maintenance and redecoration programme,” said treasurer Alan Mayne.

“It really is a new look Legion club that members must see.”

For the first five weeks of opening, there will be table service for maximum group number of six, says Alan.

Quizzes will start again on July 1 and then be held on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

Meanwhile Bingo will be back on Sundays from July 4.

“Entry to the club is members-only,” Alan continued, “but we welcome prospective new members and the application process is easy.

“The club truly appreciate the donations it has received during very difficult times.”Anyone wishing to become a member should simply pop into the club on Barn Street, Liskeard, to fill out a form.
