More than £1,000 has been raised for St Luke’s Hospice by a watersports club. Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club collected £1,060 for the hospice in Plymouth through a two-day event.

Club members and friends joined in a weekend of fun which included a raffle supported by local businesses, indoor yacht racing, a coffee morning and craft fair, on-the-water races and a live music evening.

The club has raised funds for St Luke’s at an annual event over the past few years.

Organisers Sue Griffiths and Jenny Roberts were pleased with the way this year’s event went. Jenny said: ‘It’s been a great event and everyone has had a great time. I am thrilled we have raised so much money.’
