TWO charity quilts made by Caradon Quilters with the theme 'Homes' were presented to two local charities at their monthly sewing meeting recently. Receiving the quilts were Roy Illing, representing the Liskeard Hospital League of Friends, and Jaquie Vincent from Cancer Research, in memory of Daphne Wood, a founder member of Caradon Quilters who died last year. This was followed by a talk, with slides, by Callum Deveney from the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, about their plans for the conservation of St George's Island, just off the mainland from Looe, which passed into their care recently due to the death of the late owner, Babs Atkins.
