A LOOE photographer who always helps to keep local clubs in the frame has been named as the town’s Citizen of the Year.

Neil Richardson supports many of Looe’s sports clubs and organisations, explained mayor Cllr Armand Toms, adding: ‘Neil is always out and about and he takes very good photographs.

‘He lets people download and use them and he has done this for a number of years. He is a worthy recipient of Citizen of the Year.’

Meanwhile, Looe Silver Craft received the title of Organisation of the Year for 2017.

Owners Paddy and Steph McIlwaine have thrown themselves into community life since arriving in Looe several years ago.

‘They’ve not only started a business, but they’ve integrated into the town,’ said Cllr Toms. ‘They take the role of Father and Mother Christmas at the town’s festivities, and it’s something they do extremely well.’
