AROUND 80 people sat down to a special Christmas Day lunch held in a school hall. The annual Looe and District Churches Together/ Cornerstone Christmas Day lunch was prepared by volunteers led by Craig Smith and his partner Debbie Lee, from Peppers Bistro, East Looe. As well as lunch, guests were entertained by Chris the magician and his family. The Mayor of Looe, Ron Overd, and his wife Pat chatted with guests and Father David Annear, the new parish priest of Sclerder Abbey, said Grace. Thanks were given to Heather Jenkins, headteacher of the community school, for providing the hall on Christmas Day and for loaning a minibus to transport the guests who had no transport and had difficulty in walking. Appreciation was also extended to all the organisations and clubs who provided financial help and to many of the local tradesmen for their contributions.
