A CHURCH whose Christmas carol service could not go ahead has taken its singing out into the community.

Six musicians from St Martin’s Church set up a gazebo with speakers and equipment on some of th estates around Liskeard and in St Keyne and provided short outdoor carols services for residents to enjoy.

Rachael Pryor of St Martin’s said: “We sang carols and Christmas songs, had some bad Christmas jokes and a short message from the vicar Steve Morgan. They seemed to go down well and were appreciated by those living nearby.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to the musicians from St Martin’s who put this together and put in the hard work to set up equipment at each location, provide wonderful music and lead the singing.”

St Martin’s is one of five local churches getting ready to stage a big drive-in or walk-in “Car Park Carols” event at the Morrisons car park in Liskeard this Sunday (December 20).
