The latest in a series of quiz evenings in Torpoint which have raised more than £1,200 for good causes will be held on December 17.
"We are staging a Christmas charity fun quiz at 7.30pm on the Friday," said Mal Girling who organises the events with his wife Izzy.
"The cost of entry is £5 per team, with a maximum of four people in a team. People wanting to take part must register before the night. We are expecting a good turn-out.
"We will be holding a raffle on the night with one of the prizes being a Christmas dinner - the turkey and the vegetables. Other prizes include Sunday lunches at several establishments in Torpoint, a Chinese meal and car servicing.
"Money raised by the raffle will go to St Dunstan's for Blind Servicemen and to St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth."
The quiz evenings are staged at the Comrades Club in the town. The first was held in May of last year and the maximum number of teams to have competed during an evening has been 25. The top three teams in each quiz win money for their chosen charities.
Mal compiles the quizzes which as well as having a serious side also feature trick and spoof questions.
Among the organisations to benefit have been the RBL Poppy Appeal, the Cornwall Air Ambulance, St Luke's Hospice, the British Heart Foundation, Torpoint Mayor's Millennium Fund, Dame Hannah Rodgers School, Torpoint St John Ambulance Brigade, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the Kosovo Appeal, Torpoint Guides, Torpoint Scouts and CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood Trust).
