Dozens of Santa-dressed families completed children’s charity CHICKS annual Santa Fun Run in Callington.

Kayleigh Young-Valentine, CHICKS Events Fundraiser, said: ‘Our huge thanks extend to Callington Rotary Club, Darren’s Cars and all the wonderful volunteers who helped out. This support has generated a vital income that will enable more children to enjoy a break at CHICKS over Christmas and in the months to come.’?CHICKS runs five day respite breaks for children from across the UK year-round at its retreat in Tywardreath including festive-themed breaks during December.

Oliver Boyce, CHICKS Respite Break Training and Support Officer said: “We pull out all the stops to treat the children to festive activities over Christmas, such as going to the pantomime and dressing the volunteers up as Christmas trees! We walk along the beach on Christmas Day before heading back for a traditional Christmas feast - many of these children would not have had a Christmas at all at home.’
