A BURST of song was just what the doctor ordered for one hospital patient.

Edward Hackett is a long-standing member of the Polperro Fishermen’s Choir, and its offshoot, the Wreckers. Ted, as he is known to his friends, is currently undergoing a long spell of treatment in Liskeard Hospital, and so his choir mates, with the support of hospital staff, decided to throw an impromptu concert on the ward.

Ted sang along with the Wreckers to an appreciative audience of patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Keith Wilson, captain of the Wreckers, said: ‘We made one patient in particular a very happy bunny. Ted was positively beaming with pleasure; just what the doctor ordered.’
