South East Cornwall school children will be taking part in Farm and Country Days on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge.

The events, jointly organised by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and Cornwall Food and Farming Group, aim to educate primary school age children about the links between farming and food production.

Around 60 exhibits explain various aspects of the industry and more than 300 volunteers from the agricultural, horticultural and food producing community will give their time and expertise to teach the pupils.

There will be farm animals and farm machinery on site.

This is the fifth year of the event with 1,500 Cornish primary school children, from 43 schools, taking part including Fourlanesend, Cawsand, Caradon APA in Liskeard, Sir Robert Gefferys, Landrake, South Petherwin, St Dominic, St Martin’s in Liskeard and St Mellion.
