IN response to the letter in the Cornish Times on October 8 regarding Safeway/Morrisons: apparently this person has not yet had the misfortune of having a limited income to live on. If they had, he or she would be glad, very glad, to take advantage of all stores' own cheaper brands. I know I am - always. I am on a pension and I have to shop and consider all prices and brands before I buy them, and keep to a very strict budget. People are always pleased to find cheaper own shop brands. Please Somerfield get more cheaper own brands on your shelves. You used to have them but they are getting scarce now. I have to shop fortnightly and I find the shelves empty of all the specials and buy one get one frees etc. Why don't Somerfield have the same system Safeway used to have - two or three items per customer. It would mean those on low incomes getting a fair deal. I have relatives who shop at Morrisons. They have stated how good the quality and value it is for the money they spend there. Please Morrisons, do not stop your cheaper in-store brands.
