ONE of the five charity shops in Saltash is set to close at the end of the month. The building, owned by the Co-op, has now been sold and the YMCA, which has been there for seven years, will have to cease trading as it is unable to afford the new lease. Paul Sargison, head of retail fundraising for the YMCA, said: 'We were on a short-term lease from the Co-op and were very lucky to have the premises rent free. 'We have been very well-supported by the people of Saltash and are naturally disappointed at having to vacate the building. We are currently looking for new premises.' The YMCA's aim is to help young people build a better future, and nationally they house 7,200 people a night.
