CHANGES are in store for bus passengers following the takeover of some First Bus operations by Stagecoach.
The changes will be introduced on September 6.
Stagecoach is not replacing certain routes provided by First, including the 76 Callington to Plymouth and the 81 between Torpoint and Plymouth city centre.
The operator says that this is because similar routes are offered by other bus companies.
The Citybus number 12 route runs hourly between Callington and Plymouth, but in Torpoint, there will be fewer buses leaving for Plymouth, as Citybus runs its service every half-an-hour, as opposed to every 15 minutes.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: ‘Careful consideration has been given to the services that we will be running as we need to ensure that our operation will be sustainable for the future given the substantial investment involved.
‘Of course, we will continue to review and evolve our network as future opportunities are identified, but we must start by establishing a strong, stable base set of services.’
In a statement, Citybus said that it would be bringing in additional evening services and a full Sunday service from Torpoint to Plymouth to fill gaps left by existing First routes.
