ONE of the closest RS National sailing championships on record was reaching its climax yesterday afternoon with only three points separating the leaders as they took to Looe Bay for the last time.

Pre-event favourite Geoff Carveth, the former Enterprise and Solo ace whose appetite for national crowns across the board has seen him win the Endeavour 'Champion of Champions' Trophy on at least four occasions, was in pole position.
