THE fourth Relay For Life in Liskeard raised more than £16,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The 24-hour event was the culmination of months of fundraising and donations are still being received by the volunteer organising committee.

Forty local cancer survivors were guests of honour and officially opened the relay. Each of the 14 teams, of between eight and 15 people, had one of its members on the track at Lux Park rugby pitch at all times, while everyone else enjoyed the atmosphere.
