I am writing with reference to a front page article that featured recently, regarding the cattle issue at St Cleer.
Personally I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I have lived in the village for some time now and I think seeing the roaming cattle is a wonderful sight. It gives the village character, which is somewhat lacking in other villages.
If you choose to live in a rural moorland location then you should expect the presence of animals that are undoubtedly finding their way into the village. I can understand residents upset if their property is being damaged, but you can't have your cake and eat it.
If you are unable to tolerate the products of local farming communities then quite frankly you shouldn't be living in the village. After all the cattle was here long before some of the residents.
In an age of hardship for farmers, shouldn't we be supporting them, not complaining about their livestock?
