TABLE tennis player David Wetherill – who will be representing Great Britain in Italy later this month in the Disabled European Championships – has received a £300 cheque from CHAT. His mother Liz said: 'With David travelling to international events and training camps all over the country, it has cost more than £1,500 in the last three months. 'To achieve his aim of reaching the Beijing Paralympics in 2008, we need to raise more than £6,000 each year.' Crafthole and District Churches Table Tennis Club have a dedicated team which is letter writing and fundraising, taking the pressure off David's mum and dad Paul. Liz said: 'We can spend the time organising his itinerary.' David has just completed a training camp in Cardiff and this weekend is taking part in the Seven Counties Trials at Plymouth and Okehampton. He also received £50 from Torpoint and Rame Lions Club.
