For absolute beginners. Learn to use a computer with confidence to produce well presented documents and maintain files and directories in an efficient manner. Those students who wish will be prepared and entered for an appropriate Pitman examination (additional fee payables, details at the class). Limited to 12 students, early enrolment strongly advised.

This course offers basic training in word processing, databases and spreadsheets. It is a practical course and the qualification is achieved through assessment of course work. Some knowledge of computer keyboard/typewriting skills would be an advantage but is not essential. Fees include Centre fee and supplements but not the CLAIT assessment fees, approx £19.50, payable by ALL students. Students paying the full fee may be entitled to Income Tax Relief of £9.08 upon completion of the appropriate Inland Revenue form; CLAIT assessment fees will also be eligible for tax relief.
