A VOLUNTEER has received a national award from Cancer Research UK in recognition of her outstanding contribution.
The charity’s annual Flame of Hope Awards acknowledge remarkable efforts in fund-raising and volunteering made by people from all walks of life.
Jean Hoskin, 71, from Liskeard, was named a Cancer Research UK Honorary Fellow in celebration of what the charity said was ‘unflinching loyalty and dedication shown to the cause over many years’.
With her husband Owen, she picked up the accolade at a ceremony in London hosted by Cancer Research UK chairman Sir Leszek Borysiewicz.
