ARTIST and environmental activist Rob Arnold has brought his latest arresting piece of work back to Liskeard - and he is asking local people to help name the sculpture.

The Easter Island head - or Moai - has been created from thousands of tiny pieces of plastic collected off just one beach in Whitsand Bay.

Rob made the piece to highlight how human beings are using up the planet’s resources too fast.

‘Though it’s a serious issue, I need a nickname for my Easter Island head, so I’d like to invite suggestions,’ he said.

‘It needs to be something short, so not ’Mr Plasticy McPlasticface’ please!’

Anyone wishing to suggest a name should go to the Liskeard and District Museum, where Rob’s exhibition The Plastic Age will be running until October 31.

The museum is open weekdays from 10am - 4pm and Saturdays from 10am - 1pm, and the person who suggests the name eventually chosen for the Easter Island head will win a £10 book voucher.
