A campaigner is calling for better safety barriers to help save lives on the Tamar Bridge.

Helen Harrington is urging the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee to act ‘sooner rather than later’ to help prevent further suicide attempts.

An online petition has reached 800 signatures and has received backing from local people on both sides of the river, said Helen, who lives in Saltash.

The petition can be found by searching for ‘change.org tamar bridge’ on the internet.
