THREE more streets in Liskeard could be added to a traffic calming scheme set to be introduced to the town. Cornwall County Council's Highways department is currently looking at introducing measures to cut traffic using Castle Street in Liskeard. The move came after residents set up an action group in September 2006 to highlight the problems they have with heavy goods vehicles and high volumes of traffic using the road. Buses and lorries have been seen mounting pavements on the narrow road, and their extended wing mirrors have also demolished pillars and dislodged flower pots. As a result, traffic calming measures are expected to be introduced on the road this year. However, at Liskeard Town Forum's meeting, residents have also asked that Pound Street, Higher Lux Street and Trewartha Court be looked at as possibilities for the scheme.
