Glory on Sunday

LAST weekend saw the latest production of the Callington and Gunnislake Circuit choir and friends. The group performed the musical 'Glory' to a full church on Saturday and Sunday evening.

The musical tells the story of a Salvation Army Captain and his wife who come to a small Cornish village to preach the gospel.

The drama-produced by Sheila Tredinninck- contained many outstanding performances. The choir gave some powerful and moving renderings of typical Salvation army style music under their conductor, Rosalind Bunkum. The accompaniment was provided by piano, saxophone, flute, guitar and drums under the directorship of Jill Rickard who wrote much of the music for the instrumentalists.

The musical is going 'On Tour' to Plymouth, Launceston and Tavistock, with another performance at Callington methodist church on Sunday March 25 at 7.30 pm. Entry is free but there will be a collection for charity.
