Polish delegation
A delegation from Poland, representing various government levels, has visited Callington on a fact-finding mission, to follow the mural trail around the town.
The delegation, which includes a ministerial advisor, is taking the opportunity to view the murals as an example of how European, Objective One money can be used in a regeneration project. Various areas of Poland are due to become Objective One areas and the delegation members are using their time in Callington and other rural areas to formulate their programmes and strategies for their own country.

The Callington and Gunnislake Methodist Circuit Choir and Friends held their final performance of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' at Callington Methodist Church on April 4.
The production has attracted huge attention with demand for tickets being so great, the cast had to give repeat performances on two of the evenings to accommodate the audience.
Instrumental accompaniment under the direction of Jill Rickard was outstanding, incorporating flutes, saxophones, clarinets, bass guitar, drums, keyboard and piano.
The drama, under the direction of Sheila Tredinnick, saw the male members of the choir go from a French cafe scene for 'Those Canaan Days', through the calypso beat of 'The Benjamin Calypso' to a country and western style for 'One more Angel in Heaven.'
The choir of 46 voices under their conductor, Rosalind Bunkum, were excellent, particularly in the final song 'Any dream will do', with Joseph played by Jeremy Stephens.
Cheques for £900 each were presented to the NICU Special Baby Unit, Derriford Hospital and the Mustard Tree Macmillan Fund. The total collection from the two performances on Monday amounted to £1595 which was given to the Mozambique appeal. The company also took the show to Launceston and to Bridestowe, raising £1287 for Mozambique.
