Cyber cafe in Calstock

People in the parish of Calstock now have a mini cyber cafe to use. Calstock Development Trust (CDT) have opened their office in the village to anyone interested in discovering what computers can do - from basic skills to surfing the web.

Over the past month more than 15 people have used this new facility and have booked to retuen. The sessions have been supervised by a local volunteer but more volunteers are now needed to spend a few hours a week helping people discover their potential through the use of a computer. No particular qualifications are needed, just a working knowledge of computers and an understanding of the different ways and paces at which people learn.

For CDT to continue this evening service people need to contact them. Expenses can be paid and training will be given to help develop the volunteers' skills as well, but the main motivation can be witnessing and helping people conquer their fear of technology.

For more information about either volunteering or to book time on the computer contact Jo Dixon or Nikki Little on 01822 834303.
