Liskeard Town Council, which owns and manages the Public Hall, is planning a programme of modernisation to the building.

This will include improving the catering facility, the access with lifts to all floors, reconfiguration of the Refreshment Room to make it better for functions, and new baby changing facilities.

The town council would like to hear what the community thinks about the proposals, and any ideas people might have as to how the hall can better serve the needs of the town and district.

There is a survey on the council website or follow the link from the Liskeard Town Council Facebook page.

Paper copies of the survey are also available from the town council office in West Street or the tourist information centre in Pike Street. The closing date is Friday, April 21.

The building comprises the main hall, which can seat up to 300 people, plus five smaller meeting rooms. These spaces can all be hired, with special rates for charity events and not for profit groups. The building hosted 1,596 events last year, from concerts and pantos to small group meetings.
