I AM writing in response to the headline in the Cornish Times (16.03.07) that said everyone's a winner with the St Mellion golf club scheme. I don't think that is quite right. I was a postman delivering in the village for years and the traffic on that stretch of road was dangerous then. What with all the extra houses built in Callington and now more homes to be built at the golf course, it's an accident waiting to happen. Build the bypass first before someone is killed. It's no good putting in a crossing on that stretch of road because that will only make it more dangerous as a lot of drivers ignore the speed limit. I am not against what the owners of the golf course want to do but please will the authorities think about the quality of life of villagers who live on this stretch of road. The plans for the bypass have been drawn up so, instead of wasting money patching things up, spend it on the bypass.
