Cornwall’s tourism supremo will be walking the South West Coast Path through South East Cornwall this week.

Malcolm Bell, Visit Cornwall’s chief executive, says he is passionate about the South West Coast Path and he has pledged to walk just under 30 ‘Malcolm’s Miles’ in three days on October 5, 6 and 9 as part of the 2016 Coast Path Challenge event.

This will take him from Rame Head, through Looe and onto Fowey. With his team, they will be stopping off at key locations and hope to meet tourism businesses based along the route.

Malcolm is asking local businesses to help fund-raise towards the costs of protecting and maintaining the Coast Path.

He said: ’I’m taking on this challenge to showcase the wonderful places that people can experience as they walk along the Coast Path. We all need to protect and maintain this unique walking route.’
