Investors and businesses are being asked to help draw up a blueprint for job creation.

Responses from residents in a consultation exercise has lead to a major assessment of potential employment sites and needs being commissioned.

The project will also assess whether there is a demand for a new agricultural hub in the Liskeard area, following the closure of the town’s market last year.

‘More jobs needed in Liskeard was the comment from local people during Town Council consultations,’ said the town’s Mayor Christina Whitty.

‘To help achieve this the town council and its partners have retained Stratton Creber Commercial to carry out an employment sites and agri-hub demand assessment.’

The work aims to find out from local businesses and potential inward investors their needs for a range of business park-type premises including offices, workshops and factory building plots.

The Town Council is funding 10% of the costs of the study.

Also involved are Liskeard Chamber of Commerce, Cornwall Quality Livestock Producers, Menheniot Parish Council and the Local Enterprise Partnership.

Businesses, especially those with a current need for premises or that might need new premises in the next three to five years, can comment by contacting Beth Stubbs at Stratton Creber Commercial by noon on Friday, April 27 on [email protected]
