A presentation was given at a meeting of St Blaise Town Council about the the redevelopment plans for Cornish Market World, which started life many years ago as Par Market. Sam Healy said the site would be part of ‘Cornucopia’ and would have a totally different look when completed. It will be open every day of the week and could have new closing hours of 11pm. It is hoped the project will generate 100 full-time equivalent employment opportunities and 100 apprenticeships. From this summer there will be a new traditional American diner, run by Sam’s, who already have local restaurants in the area. A local person will be working with Market World to set up a pasty museum on the site. The improvements are due to be open by Easter 2017.
