A NEW market event has been declared a success after its debut.

The first Liskeard Food and Craft Market was held at the Public Hall.

Organiser Laura Webb said: ‘The first market was a great event.

‘We had a fantastic mix of local producers including delicious pasties and sausage rolls, hand baked bread, locally pressed cider, freshly grown organic vegetables, home baked cakes, home-made scented candles and bath products, hand-made cards, landscape photography and bespoke frames and hand-made bags and accessories.

‘We’d all love for the market to become a regular monthly event in Liskeard which will bring both custom to the town and freshly produced products and hand-made crafts to the consumer.

‘The market acts as an essential means for up-and-coming traders to reach their customers.’

The aim is to make the market a monthly event from the new year.

The next market is presently booked for Saturday, December 9 in Liskeard Public Hall between 9am and 1pm.

There is a possibility that another market will be held in October but a date is yet to be confirmed.
