A SOUTH East Cornwall IT company has won one of British businesses’s most prestigious awards.

Computech IT Services Ltd., a leading software development house, has been given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2017.

This is an awards programme for British businesses and other organisations who excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development.

Managers at Saltash-based Computech say their flagship product, BusinessMan ERP, a comprehensive business management software suite, has achieved ‘phenomenal’ success, particularly in the US market.

Chief executive Garry Thompson and chief operating officer Kevin Baskott represented Computech at a reception hosted by The Queen, at Buckingham Palace earlier this year.

And last week, the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall Colonel Edward Bolitho and Vice Chairman of Cornwall Council, Saltash councillor Hilary Frank, presented Computech with the award at their office.

A spokesman for the firm said: ‘Computech are honoured to receive such a prestigious award and felt it was a testimony to the hard work and dedication of all the staff.’
