A NEW tourism initiative aims to encourage visitors by uncovering ‘hidden Cornwall’.

The cultural tourism organisation Cornwall 365 has created a new guide called ‘Find and Seek’ made up of unique hand-drawn maps of different areas of Cornwall by local artist Keith Sparrow, which, says the organisation, ‘invites budding explorers to celebrate the fresh, the classic and the “waiting to be uncovered” of Cornish life, simultaneously enticing wanderers to get to know the fun, the scary, the delicious and the ambitious.’

There’s tracing paper over each map so readers can add their own stories and adventures.

Project manager Charlie Gray said: ‘We have had amazing feedback so far about the book.

‘People think they know Cornwall so well but even locals often find there are hidden gems right on their doorsteps – we have learnt so much ourselves, it has been a hugely rewarding project to be involved in.’

Find and Seek is split into 10 different sections with an additional, Cornwall-wide map. Areas covered include Launceston and East Cornwall, Liskeard, Looe and Saltash, Bodmin and Bodmin Moor.

Also listed are events throughout Cornwall,  as well as a fun glossary which translates from Cornish into English some words that regularly make up Cornish place names.
