Hundreds of local young people, business representatives, Cornwall Council officers, teachers and parents are coming together to help celebrate and promote careers guidance and career resources in Cornwall as part of National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Week from March 6 to 10.
The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people leaving education.
’As the largest careers campaign in the UK, National Careers Week is a great platform to promote careers education, information, advice and guidance in Cornwall,’ said Samantha Cartmel, National Careers Week ambassador in Cornwall.
Events being planned include on March 6, when the local Apprenticeship Ambassador Network are organising an event at the Eden Project to promote apprenticeship opportunities to young people.
There will also be social media campaigns running throughout the week and all who are taking part are being encouraged to join in the conversation on Twitter using the hashtags #NCW17 and #NAW17.
