With work having started on the construction of ‘Cornucopia’, the new multi-million-pound food and drink family visitor attraction that will also include the UK’s first tribute to the Cornish pasty, its developer has announced it will create in excess of 100 all-year-round jobs when it opens in St Austell next year.

Malcolm Ball, the Cornish chief executive of WMC Retail Partners Plc, the company behind the development, says he wants the attraction to become one of the county’s leading food and drink destinations within the first few years of trading.

’Part of Cornucopia will be home to the UK’s very first showcase for the Cornish pasty. It’ll be interactive and will encourage visitors to try their hand,’ he said..

Ahead of the arrival of Cornucopia next year, the development team is finalising contracts with two big Cornish brands that are planning to open new outlets in the space adjacent to the new attraction at the St Austell Bay Retail and Leisure Park.
