A year of fundraising events at Looe Golf club has raised over £2,200 for Looe Lifeboat Station.
Jenny and Andrew Deacon are the past ladies and club captains with Looe Golf Club. During their year as captains, they organised a series of fundraising events, including a captain’s day competition, raffles, quiz nights and craft fares. One challenging fundraising activity was for any golfer who unfortunately found their ball landing in a nominated bunker to pay a forfeit into the fund.
Jenny and Andrew visited Looe RNLI Lifeboat Station to donate half the proceeds of their year’s fundraising activities – the other half was donated to the Plymouth Chestnut Appeal.
Lifeboat Operations Manager, Dave Haines thanked Jenny, Andrew and all the members of Looe Golf Club for the generous donation. He revealed their donation would be used to ensure the inshore lifeboats are always ready for service, enabling volunteer crews to continue saving lives at sea.
