Plans for the demolition and redevelopment of part of Looe's harbourfront Admiral Boscarn Hotel have won the backing of town councillors. Developers Churchill Property Group have submitted plans to Caradon District Council for the part-demolition of the building, currently used as a nightclub and bar, and the erection of nine apartments, two shop units and the refurbishment of an existing flat. Part of the premises would continue to be used as a public house. The town council's planning committee has voted to support the proposals which would result in the removal of a 1970s-built extension to the original Victorian-style building located in a prime position of Looe's seafront.
