For the second time in the history of Looe Carnival the bollards were not unlocked - this may only affect large floats - but if you have spent months of planning, time and money to ensure that you are providing the best float you can, the highlight surely of the procession, then what a bitter disappointment for both partakers and would be onlookers.

In fact, it is hardly worth all that effort for only half a route.

Surely it is possible for a contingency plan to be in force so that if one key holder can't oblige then the other can.
