On a rare sunny Saturday afternoon the moderately-sized crowd were treated to a keenly contested Premier Division local derby with neither side willing to give an inch. Both sides created chances in the first half but neither could break the deadlock.
The second period was a different kettle of fish with Dobwalls dominating. Simon Fisher opened the scoring when the home keeper mis-hit his clearance, the ball went straight to the in-form striker who made no mistake from 10 yards. 20 minutes later he was again on hand to fire home to extend the lead. His strike partner Martin Polatch scored twice within five minutes to seal the result.
Dobwalls introduced Adrian Walton who was making his debut for the club, having played for the junior section of the club before spending a couple of seasons with the Plymouth Argyle youth squad. He almost made a dream start when his shot went through the keeper's legs only to be cleared off the line by an alert defender. The lad will be a useful addition to the squad in the run-in to the end of the season will push a number of senior players for a place in the starting line-up.
Martin Polatch received the Man of the Match award for another industrious display. The team were sponsored by Jefferys Estate Agents.
